Dual Language Education that Empowers Institute Background
At Carver Dual Language Elementary, our goal is that all our students leave us as biliterate, bilingual, and multicultural individuals. We achieve this by instructing content in both Spanish and English daily. Children are exposed to language development and content learning through different research supported practices. This allows our students who already have a connection with Spanish to keep their heritage language alive as well as providing our students who aren’t already connected with the language the academic and social benefits of learning a second language. Everything we do at Carver encourages the practice and appreciation of both languages and the cultures they represent.

Specific practices that are the reasons your HULs enjoy success in your program
Practice 1
We've created an environment that recognizes and respects bilingualism for the asset that it is, and this makes our students feel empowered.
Practice 2
We support the whole child, academically, socially, and emotionally, so our students can be at a place there they can learn and grow in every way.
Practice 3
We have a rigorous curriculum, supported by both languages, which allows our students to feel validated when they succeed and solidifies the idea that not only do we believe in them, but they should believe in themselves as well, that they can do hard things.
